William G. “Bud” Richter
William G. “Bud” Richter, of Grafton, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
Bud was born on May 4, 1934, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles Richter and the late Edith (nee Schultz) Richter. He was later united in marriage to Nancy Kostur, on April 23, 1955, in Erie, Pennsylvania. Together their marriage was blessed with four children: Steve, Karen, Kathy, and Michael. In 1976, Bud and Nancy relocated their family to Port Washington, when Bud was promoted to a Sales Manager position.
Bud worked for Kold-Draft for over 35 years, starting as a service tech, then moving on to the assembly line, and finally working as the Regional Sales Manager, until he retired in 1990. Shortly after retiring, Bud and Nancy moved to Orlando for 18 years to enjoy the long winters in warmer weather. Bud and Nancy then came back to Wisconsin, to be closer to family, moving to Grafton, in 2008.
Bud enjoyed cutting grass, but he truly loved spending time on the golf course, especially at Edgewater Golf Club.
Bud is survived by his children, Steve (Jane) Richter and Karen (Ken) Konicek, grandchildren: Rachel (Bryan) Fillinger, Michael Konicek, Adam (April) Richter, Erin Fitzpatrick, and Christopher Fitzpatrick; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Valerie Konicek, and brother, David (Bernie) Richter. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Bud was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Richter, son, Michael Richter, and daughter, Kathy Richter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Rose Harms American Legion Post, in Grafton, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ozaukee County Humane Society are appreciated
