William P. Swatek “Bill” Of Marshfield, formerly of Grafton passed away on Saturday, December 21. He was 39. He is preceded in death by his mother Ann Swatek (nee Proffit). He is survived by his father Peter (Karen), grandmother Helen Proffit, stepbrother Steven (Carren) Gratz, stepsister Jessica Gratz, his niece and nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Bill enjoyed camping and for many years he and his parents camped at some of Wisconsin’s state parks as well as traveled to other states to camp and enjoy the outdoors. Bill and his family also camped in the Lac du Flambeau for many years with his grandparents. Bill loved music particularly the rock and roll of the 50s and 60s. He would get a kick out of trying to stump someone into figuring out who sang a particular song. Bill participated in the Special Olympics in bowling and in 2018 went to the State championship and did very well. He also participated in taekwondo and had received his green belt. Bill had been working at Firehouse Ceramics in Marshfield, Wisconsin where he was completing prevocational training before searching for community employment. The family wishes to thank the staff of 4 North at the Marshfield Medical Center for their care of William while he was a patient. Memorial Service will be held at the Grafton Mueller Funeral Home, 979 N. Green Bay Road on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1:00pm with Memorial Visitation at the funeral home from 11:00am until the time of service. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association would be appreciated.
