Walter T. Multerer, of Grafton, Wisconsin passed away peacefully with family present early May 25, 2017, at the age of 90 years. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 29, 1926, to Albert and Connie (Noppenberger) Multerer. On July 5th, 1958 he married Geraldine LaMarche at Holy Family Parish in Flat Rock, MI. Gerry and Walter were married for 58 years. He is survived by his wife and seven children and their families: Susan (Ali) Pourmodheji and their children Suri and Kia of Mequon, WI; Joan (Mark) Dawson and their children Matthew and Julia of Fitchburg, WI; Edward (Ti) Multerer and their children Emma and Chloe of Ottawa Hills, OH; Jane (Dave) Dawson and their children Nicholas and Benjamin of Menomonee Falls, WI; Walter Michael (Patty) Multerer and son Austin of Gladstone, MI; Maria (Ken) Multerer-Johnson and their children Stuart and Irene of Grafton, WI; and Jennifer (Michael Klimek) Multerer and daughters Brynn and Elyse of Madison, WI. He is also survived by his sister Francis (Don) Cocking of Green Bay, WI and his brother, Albert Multerer, of Birch Creek, MI. Walter was a graduate of Menominee High School Class of 1945. After high school, he served overseas in Germany towards the end of World War II. He would serve in the United States Army from 1945-1947. He also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Construction Engineering from Chicago Technical College in 1951. At the beginning of 1963, Walter assumed ownership of Multerer Construction from his father, Albert Multerer. He would go on to build and remodel homes in Menominee and Marinette Counties until his retirement in 1989. A long-time-resident of Menominee, MI, Walter served his community in many capacities, including: Alderman, City of Menominee; Chairman, Board of Review, City of Menominee; Chairman, Construction Board of Appeals, City and County of Menominee; Chairman, Historic District Commission; President, Parent Teachers’ Association – Menominee Catholic Central School; Financial Secretary, Local Carpenter Union 1246; V.F.W. Secretary of House Committee; an active member of the VFW in Menominee, MI and as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Grafton, WI. A Memorial Mass will take place on Monday, June 26, 2017, 1PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St.), in Grafton with Father Steve Lampe presiding. The family will receive friends and relatives, on Monday, at the church, from 11AM until the time of service. The Mueller Funeral Home of Grafton, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
