Walter Lewandowski, 58, of Grafton, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at home on July 25th, 2023.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Arlene Lewandowski, his sister Linda (Andy) Lukas, and his parents-in-law Karl and Carroll Lorenzen.

Walt is survived by his wife, Karla Lewandowski, and his children Anthony (Chelsea) Lewandowski and Megan (Scott) Barkelew. He is also survived by his siblings; Thomas Petrofsky, Alan (Kathy) Petrofsky, Richard (Caryn) Lewandowski, Joseph (Tammy) Lewandowski, and Diane (Donny) Schermer. He is further survived by his sister-in-laws Debroah (Michael) Port, Mary (Gary) Ledford, and Donna (Greg) Collard. Additionally, he is further survived by his close friends, Stephen Young, and Nicholas and Melissa Prom with their two children Abigail and Amelia.

Walter attended Oak Creek High School and graduated in 1983. Walt then entered the grocer workforce at Gold’s Shoprite. Walter was a devoted grocer and turned his lifelong dedication to become a Store Director at Sendik's Germantown, in which he helped build and open. For the past 11 years, Walter served his community as Assistant Store Director at Fox Bros. Slinger Piggly Wiggly. He was well-loved and respected at Piggly Wiggly and is further survived by all his beloved coworkers, vendors, and customers. Walter married the love of his life on February 3rd, 1990. Karla and Walt have been happily married for 33 years and together had two children, Anthony and Megan. Walt was an avid gardener, lover of Styx, fisherman, and enjoyed being outdoors. He loved camping and kayaking. Additionally, Walt took great pride in his garden and gifted many with his homemade pickles, salsa, and pico de gallo. Walt was an animal lover and enjoyed taking his two dogs, Bailey and Sadie, for daily walks. In addition, Walt thoroughly enjoyed taking care of his dear friends’ two children, Abigail and Amelia Prom.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, 979 N. Green Bay Rd., Grafton. A visitation will be held, on Sunday, at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family politely requests that donations in Walter Lewandowski’s name be made to K9 Maverick (Donations to the Grafton Police Force at https://www.graftonk9foundation.com/donate ) or K9 Ranger at the Cedarburg Police Force (Checks made out to Cedarburg Police Department ATTN: K9 Unit and mailed to W75N444 Wauwatosa Road, Cedarburg, WI 53095).
