Walter H. Behling

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010, 12 Noon at Davids Star Ev. Lutheran Church in Kirchhayn, for Walter Behling, who passed away on May 30, 2010, at the age of 88 years. A visitation will take place prior to the funeral service, at the church, from 11AM until 12 Noon. Interment will be held at Davids Star Ev. Lutheran Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church are appreciated. Walter was born on August 3, 1921, in Cedarburg, to the late Adolph Behling Sr. and the late Annie Kramer. He later married the love of his life, Mildred Keller on June 2, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Walter served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during WWII while being stationed in the South Pacific. He was a member of an anti-aircraft artillery battalion during his time overseas. Walter was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, gardening, and feeding his backyard birds. He especially enjoyed spending time at his youngest sons hunting farm in Eau Claire. He also loved to cook and tinker in his garage. Walter was the owner/operator of his own construction company where he built homes in Cedarburg and the surrounding areas. He later went on to work for Meta-Mold and Mercury Marine as a foreman. Walter is survived by his children, Greg (Virginia) Behling, Joan (John) Nolan, and Mark (Lee Ann) Behling, and grandchildren, Kristin (David) Ehlke, Matt Nolan, Dustin Behling, and Cal Behling. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Mildred, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers. He will be dearly missed by his family but they rejoice in the fact that their parents have been reunited in Heaven. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials to David's Star Ev.
