Thomas P. 'Tom' Land

Tom Land of Grafton passed away on May 26, 2011. Tom was a devoted husband to Glenda and proud father to daughter, Melanie. Survived by brother Wayne Land of Houston, MO., Vicki (Richard) Thomas of Smithville, MO and Debbie (John) Shook of Houston, MO. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by father, Thomas E. Land, step-mother Dottie Land, and mother Hazel Land.Tom loved his chosen profession of radio broadcasting; first working at small-town radio stations as a teenager. His career took him to Kansas City, MO., Wichita, KS., New Orleans, LA., Omana, NE., and finally Milwaukee. For the past 11 years, he worked for Journal Broadcast Group and in December was named Vice President of Radio Programming. The family would like to thank the congregation of Community United Methodist Church in Cedarburg for their love and kindness, the caring medical staff at the offices of Dr. Ranveer Nand and Dr. Ranjini Gandhavadi and everyone at Horizon Hospice.There will be an opportunity to pay your respects to Tom on Tuesday, May 31 from 2:00-3:45 at Community United Methodist Church, W68 N563 in Cedarburg. Family will not be present.A service of the celebration of Tom's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Family will receive friends at the Reception after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Community United Methodist Church benevolence fund will be appreciated.
