Thomas G. Arnold

Thomas G. Arnold Thomas Arnold left this world early in the morning of April 30, 2018, at his home in Grafton, Wisconsin, at the age of 72. A memorial service will be held at Mueller Funeral Home, 979 North Green Bay Road, Grafton, Wisconsin, at 1:30 pm on Friday, May 4, 2018. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral service from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Tom’s ashes will be interred at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Union Grove at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, or Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, are appreciated. Tom was born on April 10, 1946, in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Karl and Alice Arnold. He grew up in Grafton, and graduated from Grafton High School in 1964. Tom served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War (1966 – 1970), and later became a master bricklayer. Tom built and supervised the construction of smoke stacks around the country for Peabody International in addition to many other masonry projects. Tom was a conscientious workman who took great pride in a job well done. He added many custom features to his condominium over the years he lived there. Although he was a very private person, Tom held his friends close. The Milwaukee VA became Tom’s home away from home, and he spent many hours there receiving treatments and socializing with friends. We are very grateful to the Milwaukee VA and the many doctors and nurses who gave Tom outstanding care over the years, especially during his three-year fight with cancer. Thomas is survived by brothers David (and Helen) Arnold and James Arnold, sister Mary Meiers and brother-in-law David Meiers, nieces Amy Arnold, Sarah (and Peter) Winkler, Stacy (and Ben) Dismore, Kristin Miles, and Ann Marie Meiers, and nephew Mark Meiers. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Karl Arnold, and his mother, Alice (nee Connor) Arnold, sister, Kathleen Miles, and sister-in-law, Barb Arnold.
