Suzanne S. Zielinski

Suzanne S. Zielinski, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Village Point Commons, Grafton, WI on December 22st, 2023. Suzanne was born on November 26, 1934, to her late parents, George and Pauline (nee Denomy) Ames, in Windsor, Canada.

Suzanne loved her children, grandchildren, dogs and grand dogs. She grew up in Detroit/Grosse Pointe where she enjoyed the outdoors, singing with various choirs, gardening and travel. She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Communications and went on to be one of the first female copywriters on Madison Ave, NYC, back in the time of ‘Mad Men’. Suzanne had a second career, later in life, as the Manager for the Cancer Information Service at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit and served on many national committees with the National Cancer Institute. In addition, she returned to school to receive a Master’s of Community Medicine. She was able to return to her singing roots when she moved to Cedarburg, WI to be closer to her daughter, Janet, with the Cedarburg Senior Center Senior Choir. Suzanne always found the joy and laughter in every part of her life – something that she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

Suzanne is survived by her children, Thomas, Janet (Michael Miller), Robert (Cinthya Anaya) Zielinski. She is further survived by her 5 grandchildren, Tyler Conlan, Jack and Caitlyn Miller, Isabela and Rowan Zielinski.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her loving parents, George and Pauline (nee Denomy), and her sister, Janet Mary Ames.
