Susan V. Parodo

Susan Valfri Parodo (Nee DeFonzo) age 82 years of Cedarburg, WI. Celebrated to Eternal Life December 15, 2008. Daughter of Ralph and Rose DeFonzo. Born August 15, 1926 in Melrose Park, IL. Married to Carl Louis Parodo on October 18, 1946 in Long Beach, CA. Member of St. Francis Borgia Church, Cedarburg. Remembered in love by her brother Paul Seno, IL., son Jerry Parodo and daughters Sue Tonn, Alice Feld, Charlotte Hohner and Mary Parodo-Griebl. Also survived by grandchildren Terry, Tim, Jessie, Kelly, Ryan, John, Nick, Stephanie, David and 5 great-grandchildren. Toward the end of WWII, Sue moved from Canada to California, with just, one little suitcase. She met the dashing love of her life, Navy Chief Petty Officer, Carl Parodo. The year 1959 brought Susan and her young family to Cedarburg where she and her husband immediately embraced the charm of the small town. They joined with the community to help preserve Cedarburgs historic buildings in the 1960s. She ushered her children through the Cedarburg Schools, active in many community organizations, Newcomers Club, PTA, Cultural Center, Pioneer Village and the Visitors Center. She counted among her accomplishments a legacy of strength of character in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the natural beauty of her home town. She will be missed dearly by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday December 19th at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church (1375 Covered Bridge Rd., Cedarburg) at 1pm with Visitation at church from 11am until the time of Mass. Interment Wood National Cemetery. Memorials: If you would like to donatein Susan's memory,contributions can be made to St. Jude or any other children's charity of your choice.
