A Funeral Service will be held for Stephen E. Shipman, of Weston, Connecticut, on Saturday, January 7, 2012, 11AM at the Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg. Father Tom Eichenberger, of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Parish will officiate the service. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 10-11AM. Interment to take place at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery, in Mequon. Contributions in Stephen’s name may be made to the Boy Scouts of America. For online condolences please visit www.muellerfuneralhome.com. Stephen was born on April 16, 1942, in Orange, New Jersey, son of Catherine (nee Lochart) Shipman and the late Charles Shipman. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in finance, and went on to work on Wall Street for almost 40 years. He was last employed by the Dreyfus Corporation/ Mellon Bank Corporation in the Equity Trading Department. Stephen married Joan Armbruster, of Cedarburg, on January 3, 1987, in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Their marriage was blessed with three sons. Stephen volunteered for the local Boy Scout Troops in Weston, CT, and Georgetown,CT, and served on the board for the Weston Soccer Organization. He truly loved life, and enjoyed spending his free time with his family and extended family in Wisconsin. Stephen also took great pride in the restoration of an old farm house which was his first home that he had purchased. Stephen E. Shipman passed away at the Norwalk Hospital, in Norwalk, Connecticut, on January 1, 2012, at the age of 69 years. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joan Armbruster, sons; Stephen Shipman Jr., Robert Shipman, and Michael Shipman, mother; Catherine Shipman, father-in-law, Robert Armbruster, sister, Sue (Charles) Rutkowksi, sister-in-law, Wendy (Benjamin) Diaz, and brothers-in-law, John (Pat) Armbruster and Peter (Therese) Armbruster. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Charles Shipman and mother-in-law, Mary Aileen Armbruster. Cemetery: Immediately following the Funeral Service.
