Shirley Mae Perry, a remarkable woman, was born on July 5, 1951, in Port Washington, WI, and peacefully entered eternal life on January 21, 2024, at the age of 72 at Aurora Medical Center - Grafton.
Shirley's journey began on a farm where her love for cooking, baking, and a strong work ethic flourished under the guidance of her parents. She attended Grafton High School and graduated in 1969, applying her strong work ethic throughout her career. Shirley worked at Dickmann Manufacturing, Grob Inc., and dedicated the last 20 years of her professional life to Calibre in Grafton, retiring in 2020.
A true doer, Shirley was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was not only a loving mother but also a devoted friend and the biggest cheerleader for everyone around her. Shirley found joy in music, spiritual readings, dining out, Chinese food, home decor, and Friday nights watching Hawaii Five-O. However, her greatest joy came from spending quality time with her family.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her saddened family, friends, and the community she touched with her warmth. She is survived by her two loving children, Tammy Cartwright of Fond du Lac and Timothy (Stephanie) Steinert of West Bend. Shirley is further survived by her 5 grandchildren: Joshua (Kailey) Biever of Ripon, Skyler Steinert (Orion Loukopoulos) of Grafton, Jordan Friend (Ellie Giebel) of Fond du Lac, Brooklyn Steinert, and Autumn Steinert. She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Blake and Bryce Biever.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Richard Miller, and mother, Elda (Kurtz) Miller.
A funeral service will be held at Mueller Funeral Home (979 N Green Bay Rd Grafton, WI 53024), on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 5:45 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Leukemia Foundation in honor of Shirley's battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Additionally, donations to The Arc Fond du Lac, reflecting Shirley's passion for helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, would be greatly appreciated.
