Shirley A. Kuhlman

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church 715 6th Avenue in Grafton at 1:00pm for Shirley A. Kuhlman who died on December 31, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Rev. Paul Bulgrin will officiate. She was a longtime resident of Grafton. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Megs Mission: c/o Grace Lutheran Church or to Grace Lutheran Church appreciated. Shirley was born on January 21, 1931 and raised in Dundee, Michigan. On November 2, 1951 she married William Kuhlman also from Dundee. They had two daughters Susan and Sara. They moved from Dundee to Grafton on January 1, 1958. Shirley worked for 26 years for the Grafton School District, retiring in 1996. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Susan (Robert) Maronde of Grafton and Sara (John) Calenberg of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, grandsons, Adam (Erika) Maronde of Minneapolis, MN and Dan (Katie) Calenberg of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, granddaughters, Abby (Brian) Braatz of Germantown, WI and Amy (Michal) Hoard of DeKalb, IL, great-grandchildren, Adelaide Calenberg, Emma Jean Maronde and Samuel Maronde. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, William, parents, Henry and Anita (nee Howe) Sheffer and sisters, Mary (Lyle) Carter and Margaret (Dale) Alexander.
