Sara A. Depies

(nee Carl), of Thiensville, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the age of 38 years.

Sara was born on October 27, 1985, the daughter of Thomas and Leila (nee Eikland) Carl. Sara graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 2004. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she obtained her Masters in Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety, and met her husband. She was united in marriage to Timothy “Tim” Depies on October 13, 2012 and were blessed with two children, Isaac and Jordan. Sara worked at Concordia University of Wisconsin as an Academic Advisor, where she had a passion for helping students navigate their college journey.

Sara was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, and enjoyed attending Packer, Brewer, Bucks and Badger games. Sara and Tim enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world and relaxing on the beach, but what Sara loved more than anything else was being a mom to her two beautiful children.

Sara will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she touched. She is survived by her husband: Tim, sons: Isaac and Jordan, parents: Thomas and Leila Carl, brother: Brad Carl, parents-in-law: Robert and Diane Depies, brother-in-law: Doug (Laura) Depies, sister-in-law: Lindsay (Russell) Johnson, nieces: Lily Carl, Mila Johnson and Amalia Depies, nephew: Charlie Carl, and grandmother: Hilda Carl. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Loni Carl and Harold & Harriet Eikland.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 6031 W Chapel Hill Rd., Mequon. Following the service a celebration of life gathering will take place at the church, to greet the family.
