Ruth E. Pinnow

Ruth E. Pinnow (nee Gruetzmacher) of Cedarburg passed away peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the age of 82.  Ruth was born in LaCrosse, WI to the late Carl and Ruth (nee Erler) Gruetzmacher on February 20, 1942, and married William Pinnow on June 25, 1966, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, Missouri. Ruth was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and teacher who, alongside her loving husband William, raised four children in the faith of Christ, instilling in them the values of love, compassion, and resilience. Known for her warm spirit and infectious energy, Ruth was truly the life of any gathering, always bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Her strong faith was her anchor, helping her through life's many challenges, including the loss of her beloved husband, William, and the struggles she faced after a debilitating stroke. She found great joy in creating beautiful and meaningful items that brought happiness to others. Whether through painting or making sure her students knew how to diagram a sentence correctly or say all of the prepositions, she shared her talent and love with family and friends and her much-loved students. Ruth’s legacy of love, faith, creativity, and vibrant energy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

 Ruth is survived by her children: David (Lynda) Pinnow; Joanna (Geoffrey) Falk; Krista (Kurt) Spaletto; Miriam (Christopher) Stoll; grandchildren: Gabryella (fiancé Nicholas); William (Elizabeth); Ava, Matthew, Benjamin, Greta, Samuel, Aaron, Grace, Simon; siblings: Carol Bolz, Betty Davidson, and Paul Gruetzmacher; sisters-in-law: Esther Pinnow, Bonnie Gruetzmacher, and Nancy Pinnow. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband William, her granddaughter Cora, and brother Carl Gruetzmacher.

 Thank you to all those who have selflessly and lovingly cared for and supported Ruth and her family. Know that you have been a blessing to us and a real gift from God.

 Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 – 12:00 PM at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, WI. The family will greet visitors from 10:00 AM -11:45 AM. Interment will be at Zur Ruhe Cemetery, Cedarburg, WI. Memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church & School would be much appreciated.
