Ruth P. Laverenz

Ruth Paulina Hulda Laverenz (nee Rusch) of Jackson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the age of 92. She was born on May 26, 1927 in Rockfield, WI to the late Adolph and Louise (Koepke) Rusch. On August 23, 1947, Ruth was united in marriage to Al Laverenz at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church in Jackson. They recently celebrated 72 years of marriage. The marriage was blessed with 3 children. Ruth was a lifelong member of David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid and in previous years she sang with the Mixed Choir at the church. She was also an active member of the Jackson Senior Center. Ruth worked at the shoe factory in Cedarburg, Budd’s Western Auto Store, Beyers Coast to Coast Store and for 25 years at Universal Strap in Jackson. After retirement, she did home sewing for Universal Strap. Those Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memories include her husband, Al, children, Donna (Chuck) Kison, Gary (Gail) Laverenz and Cindy Ehlke. Grandchildren, Amy (Todd) Schrap, Andy (Corrin) Ehlke, Jessica (Benjamin) Washburn, and Ryan (Katie) Laverenz. Great Grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua Schrap, Joseph, Samuel, Elizabeth, Evelyn and Kathryn Ehlke, Caden and Liam Washburn, Kiera, Brodey and Keyana Laverenz. A sister-in-law, Delores Oppermann. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews who called her Tanta Tudy. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by grandson, Kevin Kison, son-in-law, Richard Ehlke, two sisters, Lucille Prochnow and Doris Bartelt and two brothers, Alan and Lorenz Rusch. Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church 2740 David’s Star Dr. Jackson. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 12 noon until time of service. Interment will be in the David’s Star Cemetery following the service.
