Ruth F. Rathke (nee Tews) passed away peacefully at Milan Estates on February 1, 2016 in Saukville, WI at the age of 93. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Randy Raasch will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church or a memorial of your choice are appreciated. For online condolences, please visit www.muellerfuneralhome.com. Ruth was born on July 21, 1922 in Cedarburg, WI. She graduated from Cedarburg High School, class of 1940. She married Paul Rathke, her high school sweetheart, on May 19, 1945. Ruth was a kind and generous mother with a wonderful sense of humor who encouraged her children to pursue their goals. Ruth loved gardening, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Ruth was a dedicated member of the Ladies Aid at First Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was employed as a desk clerk at Cedarburg Public Library and later as a sales clerk for Jermaines in Cedarburg. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 70 years and best friend, Paul Rathke. She is the beloved mother of Ron (Shon) Rathke and Betty (Mike) Toeller. She is the proud grandmother of Kristen (Jim) Caldwell, Erin Rathke, Michael (Francesca) Rathke, David (Charissa) Toeller, and Mel (Roy) DeSimone; and great-grandchildren Abigail, Isabelle and Audrey Caldwell, Carter and Lauren Hare, Zooey Rathke, and Luke, Jackson and Alethea Toeller; as well as other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Alida (nee Klueber) Tews, her father-in law and mother-in-law, William Jr. and Anna (nee Neuenfeldt) Rathke, her brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Cora Tews, her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Harold Laubenstein, and her baby sister, Irma Tews.
