Roy W. Wegner

Roy William Wegner of Grafton passed away July 4, 2010 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Doris (nee Wendtlandt) of Grafton. Loving father of Roy (Sharon) Wegner of Port Washington, Beverly Wegner of Grafton, Judy (Willie) Steinert of Grafton, Kristi (Mike) Mullens of Oostburg, and Chuck Wegner of White Lake. Proud grandfather to Kim, Kelly, Barry, Kurt, Lindsey, Travis, Kristin, Tianna, Mitchell, the late Joel Steinert and 11 great grandchildren. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Roy was born February 26, 1924 in Grafton to William and Anna Wegner. He was the only son and had 5 sisters. He married Doris on February 8, 1947 at St. Josephs Church and they continued to reside in Grafton. Following his fathers illness, he took over the family farm and was a Dairy Farmer until the 1970's. After farming, he owned a waste management company in the Town of Grafton until his retirement. Roy will be remembered for his love of gardening, he especially enjoyed his numerous flower beds. He was an avid sports fan, who followed the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many holidays on family trips to Tomahawk. His favorite dog, Chewy, held a special place in his heart. As a dairy farmer he was a supporter of the 4-H and never missed attending an Ozaukee County Fair throughout his life. A memorial service will be held at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton on Saturday, July 10th at Noon. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for donations to the Ozaukee County 4-H Foundation. Memorials: Memorials to the Ozaukee Co. 4-H Foundation appreciated.
