Ronald K. Mccormick

PUNTA GORDA, FL – Ronald McCormick, 73, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Ronald was born May 15, 1951 to the late John and Alice (Grunwald) McCormick, of Milwaukee, WI. He was a 1969 graduate of Nicolet High School, in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating high school, Ronald entered a journeyman's program with the Falk Corporation.

Ronald worked for Falk until 1990 when he took a Plant Management position with Kaufman Manufacturing in Manitowoc, WI where he continued until his retirement in 2016.

On October 24, 1970, Ronald married Rose Marie Newcomb at St John's Lutheran Church in Glendale, WI. They were blessed with 54 years of marriage.

Along with spending time with his family, Ronald found a great deal of enjoyment with his artwork and woodworking, hunting and fishing at their cottage in the north woods of Wisconsin, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, and fly-tying. He traveled with his wife to new places when they could. They made multiple trips to Ireland as it became one of his favorite places to visit. After moving to Florida in 2019, Ronald found his new passion; golfing. He spent several days per week on the golf course with his friends and family. Ronalds lifelong dream of golfing in Ireland came true in October of 2022 when he was able to golf the Ennis Golf Club with his son in law, Chris.

But the most significant passion for Ronald was his lifelong devotion to serving the Lord and his church. He was a current member and Elder at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Port Charlotte, FL. He was previously a church member with First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, WI and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, WI.

In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by his two children, Kenneth (Leah) McCormick and Rebecca (Christopher) Remberg; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Kendra, Cheyenne (Dusty), Sierra, Nevaeh, Amelia and Wyatt; four great-grandchildren, Evangaline, Rosalyn, Anastasia, and Declan; siblings John (Rose) McCormick, James (Linda) McCormick, Maureen (Daniel) Sacho, Thomas (Laurie) McCormick, Mark (Connie) McCormick; his brother-in-law William Newcomb, and sisters-in-law Betty Ann (James) Blazek and Margaret Mary (James) Halbrooks, along with many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother Randall McCormick, and his in-laws Edward and Mary Rose (Lane) Newcomb.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 12pm at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Port Charlotte, FL with Reverends Brian Stolarczyk and Gerald Menk officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation at the church from 11am until the time of the service.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation at the church from 11am until the time of the service. Burial will take place following the service at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg, WI.
