Robert “Bob” Zieger, of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, in Mequon, at the age of 81 years.

Bob was born on September 13, 1942, to Robert Zieger Sr. and Mabel (nee Benz) Zieger. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1960, and later served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. Bob went on to work as a supervisor for Amcast Industrial Corporation, in Cedarburg, where he was a faithful and dedicated employee for over 40 years, until he retired in 2004.

Bob and his friends loved to restore cars, and this began his love for automobiles. He loved going to car shows with a ’53 Chevy, then later on he also had a ’94 Mustang and a ’65 Fast Back Mustang. Other interests included fishing, going out to lunch with friends and family, watching Packer games, as well as watching car restoration shows and Mecum Auction.

Most of all he loved his grandchildren so much and loved to take them to the library and out to lunch when they were little, going along on their school field trips, going to car shows with Dominic and out to Wayne’s on old car night.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda Zieger, proud father of Jennifer Menzia, grandchildren, Carina, Dominic, and Annamaria, and sister-in-law, Nadine Dobberfuhl. He is further survived by many wonderful relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Mabel Zieger, in-laws, Arnold & Elda Dobberfuhl, and son-in-law, William Menzia.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, 1:00 PM at Living Word Lutheran Church (2240 Living Word Lane), Jackson. Interment will take place at Immanuel Cemetery, in Cedarburg. He will be in state on Thursday, at the church, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Memorials to Living Word Lutheran High School, Living Word Lutheran Church, or to Eyewitness for Life are appreciated.
