Robert Bob W. Hansen, Sr. of Cedarburg, was born into eternal April 20, 2010 at the age of 70 years. Bob was born October 1, 1939 in Escanaba, Michigan to Julius and Eva (nee Corrvieu) Hansen the fifth of six children. He graduated from Powers-Spalding High School, class of 1957. Bob had a musical gift and enrolled in Northern University to pursue a degree in Music Education. He would later return to Northern Michigan and receive his Masters Degree in Music Education. Bob met his wife Sally at the Methodist Church when he was the organist and she was a member of the church choir. Bob married Sally (nee Myners) Hansen on August 14, 1965 in Norway, Michigan. Bob taught in Vulcan at the High School (later known as Norway-Vulcan High School) as the band teacher/history teacher. He was brought to Cedarburg in 1968 with a teaching job at the Mequon-Thiensville school district. He started his teaching career at Grand Avenue School in Thiensville and finished his career as an elementary music teacher at Wilson Elementary School in Mequon retiring in 1999. Bob filled his life with family and friends. He was an avid cook, gardener, and of course musician. Bob was active with the Masonic fraternity and was a member of Victory Lodge #320, Cedarburg and also with Lincoln Chapter #147 Order of the Eastern Star. Bobs music ability gave him the opportunity to also serve as Grand Organist, Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star for the state of Wisconsin. Bob and Sally both enjoyed traveling the state and meeting friends along the way. He was also church organist for St. Simons Episcopal Church in Port Washington up until his Parkinsons made him unable to play. Bob is survived by his wife, Sally, children Robert (Laura) of Grays Lake, IL and Juli (Michael) Kassens of Grafton. He is further survived by his grandchildren Tyler Farver, Benjamin, Jacob and Sarah Hansen. He is also survived by his brothers John of California, Julius (Mary) of Michigan and sisters Marjorie (Bob) Johnson of Maryland and Dorothy (Blair) Turrell of Missouri, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws and his brother Walter (Peggy) of Washington. A special thanks to all the staff at Lasata Care Center, 2 East, for all of your love and compassion shown to Bob while a resident for the last year. Your special care was truly a blessing.
