Robert Leo Knetter

Robert L. Knetter of Grafton, went home to his Lord and Savior on July 10, 2017 at the age of 85 from Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. Robert was born August 2, 1931 to Leo and Dorothy (nee Pospychalla) in the Town of Cassel, Wisconsin. During his youth, Bob worked in logging and travelled to North Dakota to work on a wheat farm. He married the love of his life, Nancy Krall on June 9, 1953 in Edgar, Wisconsin. In 1960, Bob moved his family to Grafton where he worked three jobs, up to 100 hours a week, to support his growing family. In 1966, Bob joined the Wisconsin Laborers Union 113 and worked on many projects throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Bob retired in 1993 but kept busy with many side jobs. Bob was a proud member of the West Bend Moose Lodge for fifty years and was a faithful member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Robert is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 64 years, Nancy; his children: Pat, Mike (Mary), Jack (Donna), Cheri (Greg) Richardson, Lauri Helm, Larry, Lynn Heritsch (friend Mike), Lisa (Jim) Poplin, LuAnn (Curt) Paul, Lois (Greg) Ross, Frank, Mary (Terry) Suminski, Jill (Andy) Wellman; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Shirley, Maryann, and Ronnie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ray, sister Rosalie; his son-in-laws: Bob Darling and Brian Helm; his grandson Patrick, and son Leo. A Polka Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, July 14, 2017 – 6:00 PM at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church (1375 Covered Bridge Rd. Cedarburg). Visitation will be held at the church from 3:00 PM – 5:45 PM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated.
