Robert L. Gaylord, of Woodstock, Illinois, passed away on March 15, 2009 at the Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, at the age of 86 years. The Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, is assisting the family. For online condolences please go to www.muellerfuneralhome.com. A graveside committal service will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2009 12 Noon at the Oakland Cemetery (14307 Kishwaukee Valley Road), Woodstock. Family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service at the VFW Post 5040 (240 Throop St.), Woodstock. A memorial Tribute in memory of Robert L. Gaylord will take place at the VFW Post 5040 starting at 2PM with a luncheon to follow. Memorials to the VFW Post 5040 are appreciated. Robert was born on September 16, 1922, in Woodstock, to the late Clarence and the late Minnie (nee Bauer) Gaylord. He later married the love of his life, Patricia Kennedy, on August 9, 1947, and their marriage was blessed with three daughters. Robert served his country during World War II in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. He was an active member of the VFW Post 5040 in Woodstock. Robert worked at the National Auto Parts in Woodstock, as a salesman. Besides being a Mr. Fix-it around the house, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, and he really enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he was on the golf course. Robert is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Patricia (nee Kennedy) Gaylord of Woodstock, proud and loving children, Kim (Mark) Meisinger, Leigh (Carmello) Raffaele, and Jill (Fred) Gaylord, and dear grandchildren, Erica and Dominic Raffaele. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Harold Gaylord, Clarence Gaylord, and Beatrice Crossman.
