A memorial servicewill beheld on Monday, December 20, 2010, at 1:00PM at Advent Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Robert J. Bob Kather of Grafton, who passed away peacefully on December 16, 2010, at his home at the age of 73. Visitation is at the church on Monday from 11:30AM until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at Southeast Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, Union Grove. Bob was born in Sheboygan, WI on October 27, 1937, to Wilber and Dorothy (nee Voetsch) Kaher. He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. Bob enlisted in the Marines, serving his country from 1956 to 1958. He married Carol Scholz in 1958. Bob held jobs as a factory worker for Veryfine Dairy in Sheboygan where he made ice cream for 17 years, as a security guard at the Mendota Mental Health Facility in Madison for 8 years and finally as a security guard at St. Marys Regional Center in Reno, NV for 8 years. Carol and Bob lived in Reno for a total of 11 years before moving to Grafton where they have spent the last 10 years. Bob loved watching sports, bowling, golfing and socializing. He always took pride in his family and loved visiting with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by Carol, his beloved wife of 52 years; children Laura (Jim) Graefe of Cedarburg and Pete (Tiffany) Kather of Shorewood; grandchildren Hannah, Madeline, Isabella and Joshua; brother John (Lynette) Kather; other relatives and friends.
