Robert E. Scherbert

Robert E. Scherbert, of Cedarburg, passed away at the Lawlis Family Hospice, in Mequon, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the age of 79 years. Bob was born on February 16, 1937, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Gilbert Scherbert and the late Viola (nee Fritz) Scherbert. He later graduated from Cedarburg High School and served his country in the United States Army. Bob was united in marriage to Barbara Mason on August 23, 1958, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, West Mequon. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters, Dawn, Pennie, and Suzanne. Bob was a longtime employee of Fabrico, in Mequon, working as a machinist, and upon his retirement, he quickly began working for Edgewater Golf Course, in Grafton. He was a very active member of Moose Lodge 1043, as well as an active member at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving on the Men’s Club as well as ushering for church services. He enjoyed hunting, golf, softball, and bowling, but his true love was his family. Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara Scherbert, daughters: Dawn (Lowell Hansen) Voigt, Pennie (Mark) Starszak, and Suzanne (John) Skopek; grandchildren: Jody (Joe) Knedle, Shaun (Kristin) Voigt, Kristin (Nick) Zeck, Angela (Josh Chandler) Knapmiller, Stacy Knapmiller, Brittany (Eric Sabel) Skopek, and Jenna Skopek; sisters, Beverly Ruediger and Barbara (Al) Masiarchin, sister-in-law, Sylvia Scherbert, and brothers-in-law: Gary (Sue) Mason, Keith Mason, and Ken (Dolly) Mason. He is further survived by 9 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister-in-law, a niece, and two nephews. A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, November 4, 2016, 6PM at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Cedarburg. The Rev. Randolph Raasch officiated the service. A visitation was held prior to the service from 4-6PM. Memorials of your choice can be made in memory of Bob.
