Robert D. Linsley, of Cedarburg, peacefully proceeded on his spiritual journey to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Lasata Care Center. Robert was born on January 27, 1927, in Milwaukee, WI the son of the late Joseph and the late Gladys (nee Johnson) Linsley. Robert is also preceded in death by his brother, Dennis. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Doris (nee Craker), children, Daniel (Judy) and Linda (Mark) Selle, sister, Joyce (Reverend Jack) Behlendorf, grandchildren: Nathen (Martha), Joanna (Daniel) Arras, Kevin, Paul (Beka) Selle, Kurt Selle and Jacob Selle; great-grandchildren: Maxwell, Cora and Gerry. Robert graduated from high school in Fairchild, WI, in 1944. He was in the Army, and served in the occupation forces in Japan. He then went on to graduate from UW Madison, in 1956, for Mechanical Engineering. Robert’s career spanned 33 years of progressive and diversified manufacturing positions, which included industrial engineering, department manager, plant superintendent, division manufacturing manager and director of manufacturing. He worked at Allen Bradley (1956-1979), Leeson Electric Corporation (1979-1982) and Astronautics Corporation of America (1983-1989). Robert was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and former member of Great Lakes Sports Fisherman Club Ozaukee Chapter. He volunteered as an Usher, Head Usher and chairman of Congregation at Lutheran Chapel of the Cross. He also loved to be outdoors, and his hobbies included hunting, fishing and traveling. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Lasata Crossings in the activity room (W79 N673 Wauwatosa Rd.), Cedarburg. A visitation will be held at Lasata Crossings on Saturday, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to Lasata Care Center are appreciated. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the dedicated Lasata caregivers who provided his physical and emotional care with abundant love and respect.
