Rita Sandborn of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Saturday October 10, 2009 at Columbia St. Marys Ozaukee Campus at the age of 85 years. Rita was born in Escanaba, MI on June 5, 1924 to the late Harvey & Loretta (nee Lynaugh) Rasmussen, and married the late James Sandborn on November 20, 1943 in Escanaba, MI. Rita is survived by her children; Mary (John) Atkinson of Delavan, WI, Michael (Cheryl) Sandborn of Story, WY, Sharyn Sandborn of Seattle, WA, Janice (David) Powell of Waterford, WI & Karen (John Baldwin) Ghilani of Hartford, WI, grandchildren; Sarah (Matt) Seiberlich of Elgin, IL, Jessica (Chris) Blakeley of Indian Hills, CO, Kelly (Ivan) Calderon of Madison, WI, Michael Jr. (Jenny) Sandborn of Gillette, WY, Bill Atkinson of Delavan, WI, Jed Sandborn of Sheridan, WY, Jeremy (Jocelyn) Ghilani of Fort Hood, TX, Erin & Kelsey Powell of Madison, WI, 1 brother Harvey (Dorothy) Rasmussen of Gladstone, MI & 1 sister Jane (Vic) Lancour of Omro, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband James, 1 daughter Susan Jane & 3 sisters. She is further survived by 9 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday October 13, 12 Noon at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church North 1375 Covered Bridge Rd. Cedarburg. Interment church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until time of mass. Memorials of your choice appreciated. Cemetery: St. Francis Borgia Cemetery Pioneer Rd. Just west of Wauwatosa Rd. Mequon, WI (map/driving directions) Visitation: 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church 1375 Covered Bridge Rd.
