Richard (Dick) L. Daubner, 65, of Sister Bay passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2012. Dick was born on May 15, 1947 to Leo and Hazel Daubner. Survivors include wife Sharon, sons Jason (Tori) and Michael (Meghan), daughter Michelle, brother Ronald (Lynn), granddaughters Sarah and Emma, mother-in-law Rita Willems, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and the Bowl Family. He was preceded in death by both parents, father-in-law Earl and nephews Darin and Chris. Dick started his working career at Jerry's Flowers before meeting the love of his life, Sharon whom he spent the next 40 years married to. With Sharon came The Sister Bay Bowl and a 32 year career as part of management. The Bowl Family had a special place in Dick's heart. He left there to take on a new venture at Maxwelton Braes Golf Resort. The last years of his life were spent working at Peninsula State Park Golf Course. Dick enjoyed golfing, bowling, an occasional card game, going to sporting events at Gibraltar, Green Bay Packer games and going to the race track to bet on the horses. Dick was an avid polka cello player - self-taught and perfected. Dick's sincere generosity and personality made people laugh, smile and put them at ease. His kind and gentle way was felt by family, friends and customers for many years and will be sorely missed. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, July 5 2012 at Stella Maris Parish in Sister Bay at 10:00a.m. Immediately following the Mass a Celebration of Life and Sharing of Stories will be held at the Sister Bay Bowl until 2:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund will be established in Dick's name.
