Richard A. Omdahl Of Mequon, passed away peacefully at Wright House, in Mequon, on July 11, 2017, at the age of 71 years. Richard was born on June 17, 1946, in Kenosha, the son of the late Albert Omdahl and the late Bertha (nee Baer) Omdahl. He was a graduate of Kenosha Bradford High School. He received two degrees from MSOE — a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering Management. He was united in marriage to Diane J. Mickelson, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Lakefield, on May 20, 1972. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Rachelle and Melinda. Richard and Diane recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Rich worked for 23 years at Square D, starting as an Electrical Engineer, and finishing in Global Marketing. He then started a business with Diane in their basement, called Beacon Health. He was CEO of the business for 23 years, until they sold it in 2008. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, at their cabin in Waupaca. He was a wine enthusiast and collector, and an avid traveler, making his way across Europe and Asia. He was never in 4-H as a child but, after meeting Diane, he became a big supporter. He was member of the Ozaukee County 4-H Foundation board and served at its President for three years. Beginning in1971, he never missed the Ozaukee County Fair. Richard is survived by his wife, Diane, Children, Rachelle (Daniel) Cehanovich and Melinda (Michael) Caughill, Grandchildren, Charlie Caughill and Jacob Cehanovich. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 7 PM, at Grace Lutheran Church, 303 Green Bay Road, Thiensville. A Visitation will be Wednesday, at the church, from 4 PM until 6:45 PM. An Entombment will take place at Arlington Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Lutheran Church, Ozaukee County 4-H or Silver Spring Neighborhood Center are appreciated.
