Rebecca M. Atterberry

Rebecca M. Atterberry (nee Atkinson) formerly of Mequon, recently of Grafton, passed away on October 20, 2019 at the age of 98 years. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, in Cedarburg. Interment will take place at Immanuel Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church are appreciated. Rebecca was born on August 1, 1921, in Minnesota, to the late Raymond and the late Hilja (nee Bernu) Atkinson. She had the fondest memories growing up on a farm. She married Russell Atterberry on November 25, 1943 in Wadena, MN, before moving to Wisconsin. Rebecca and Russell were longtime members of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Cedarburg. They spent hours and hours volunteering at the church and at Family Sharing, in Grafton. She traveled extensively with her husband on the road and by train throughout the United States and Canada. She enjoyed staying up all night reading her books or doing crossword puzzles, but what she loved more than anything was spending time with her family. Rebecca is survived by her loving sons, Cameron (Deborah) and Brad (Angel); dear sister, Renzee Crossan. She is further survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell, son, Michael and other relatives.
