Raymond W.W. Weber, a longtime resident of Cedarburg, was called home to his Lord and Savior, on Friday, October 18, 2019, at the age of 93 years. Ray was born on January 23, 1926, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Clarence Weber and the late Martha (nee Kroening) Weber. Ray was united in marriage to Diane Kies, on September 30, 1950 at Siloah Ev. Lutheran Church, in Milwaukee. Together their marriage was blessed with five children: Mark, Michael, Scot, Natalie, and Susan. Ray served his country in the United States Navy as well as the United States Army/Air Force. He was a plank owner on the U.S.S. Midway, while in the Navy, and he also survived the sinking of his battleship. Ray went on to work as cryptographer at the Pentagon, and furthered his military career as a decorated officer, in the Army. Ray survived both World War II as well as the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in August, of 1953. Ray was able to take part in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, back in October of 2011. After his military service, he worked as a product designer and finished his career at Badger Meter. Upon his retirement, Ray worked the “breakfast shift” at the Cedarburg McDonald’s making new friends as well as conversing with the locals. Ray also volunteered his time reading with the 1st graders, at Thorson Elementary School. He was a gentle man who believed in faith, family, and friends. Ray was a longtime active member at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Cedarburg, serving as sacrament assistant, usher, Sunday school teacher, bell choir and choral member, as well as serving on the church council. Ray was also very active in the Cedarburg Players for many years, where he acted in various plays as could also be found in the community, acting in various skits as well as acting at the haunted house, on the Retzlaff farm. Ray also served in the community for many years, working at the election polls, in downtown Cedarburg. Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Weber, children: Mark Weber, Michael (Karen) Weber, Scott (Janet) Weber, Natalie (Mark) Anderson, and Susan (John) Dunfee; 12 grandchildren: Heather (Eric) Wagner, Peter (Laura)Anderson, Paul (Madeline) Dunfee, Kyle Dunfee, Elizabeth Dunfee, Nathan Dunfee, Brett Weber, Evan Weber, Christopher (Meaghan) Weber, Stephen (Adriana) Weber, Brian Weber, and Jeffrey Weber; and great-grandchildren, Elliot and Adelyn Wagner, Benjamin and Joshua Anderson, Caroline and Amelia Weber. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Ray’s Life will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 5:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church (N60 W6047 Columbia Rd.), Cedarburg. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, at the church, from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Memorials to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight or to Trinity Lutheran Church are appreciated.
