Paula Koenig

Paula Koenig, of Cedarburg, formerly of Grafton, passed away at the Lasata Care Center, on August 12, 2014, at the age of 87 years. Paula was born on August 2, 1927, in Johanniskirchen, Germany, the daughter of the late Henry Steghofer and the late Maria (nee Schneiderbauer) Steghofer. She was united in marriage to William Otto Koenig, on January 25, 1954, in Germany. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Anita and John. Paula was a longtime resident in Grafton, and was a longtime active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Grafton Senior Center, participating in many activities, including playing in the bocce ball league. Paula had a great love for German music, listening to polkas, and playing bingo, but her true love was spending time with her beloved family. Paula is survived by her loving children, Anita (Joseph) Migliaccio and John (Peggy Dienhart) Koenig, and grandsons, Lou (Melody) Migliaccio and Ricky (Susie) Bower. She is further survived by 6 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Paula was preceded in death by her husband, William Otto Koenig, daughter-in-law, Susan Koenig, as well as many sisters and brothers in Germany. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2014, 1PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton, with the Rev. Scott Kruse presiding. Visitation will be held prior to the service, on Saturday, at the church, from 11AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, in Grafton. Memorials to Lasata Crossings, in Cedarburg, are appreciated.
