Patricia “Pat” J. Biedenbender (Leaman)
Patricia “Pat” Biedenbender, born on June 16, 1929, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on July 13, 2024. Pat is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Dale Biedenbender, along with her parents, Edward and Louise Martens, brothers, John Leaman, and other dear relatives and friends.
Pat and Dale shared a deep love for each other and their family, and their unwavering faith in God and strong values have been a guiding light for generations.
A trailblazer in both business and community, Pat served as the president of Atlas Iron & Wire Works, a steel fabricating company initially owned by Dale. Through determination and perseverance, she achieved Woman Owned Business Status for the company. Pat's community involvement was extensive; she was a longtime member of the Ozaukee County FOCUS board and a dedicated member of St. John ELCA Church in Grafton. There, Papa’s Cross, designed by Dale and crafted by Atlas, stands above the altar, symbolizing strength and hope for countless families.
Pat had a zest for life, enjoying activities such as bowling, playing sheepshead and cribbage, golfing, and traveling. Yet, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family. She leaves behind a legacy that her family treasures and will continue to honor.
Pat is survived by her children: Crystal (Jim) Berg, Donna (Paul) Ohm, Dan (Mona Theobald) Biedenbender, and Steve (Debbie) Biedenbender, as well as her AFS GHS 1971-72 daughter Sally Sheppard (Peter) Schultze. Her grandchildren include Dan “DJ”, Patty (Scott, Kaylie, Matthew & Nick) Chiles, LeAnne (Matt) Morse, Angela (Steve & Alyssa) Blockel, Andrea Ohm, Tricia (Kelly, Max & Charlie Kalker) Ohm, Julia (Trey) Biedenbender, Dani (Justin) Biedenbender, Rebecca (Brandon) Charles, and Nick (Abby) Biedenbender. She is also lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren Tucker, Leighton, Carson, Brayden, Taylor, Scott, Asher, Atreyu, Jaxon, Scarlett, and great-great-grandson Dean Paul. Additionally, she is survived by numerous others, including her ‘sister’ Aunt Elayne LaCourt, who is 103 years old.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Cedar Community, where Pat resided for over 20 years. Special thanks to The Willows and The Cottages, in partnership with Commonheart Hospice, for their compassionate care and support during Pat’s final weeks. Your kindness and dedication have been a blessing to Pat and her family. God bless you all!
