Patricia Ann (Martin) Stoecker

Patricia Ann (Martin) Stoecker,

of Grafton, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 9, 1940, in Fond du Lac, WI, to Robert L. and Audrey M. (Boehnlein) Martin. She was united in marriage to John A. Stoecker on August 11, 1962, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Robert, Stephanie, and Melissa.

Pat had a wonderful childhood growing up with her extended family on Lake Winnebago, where they owned and operated Club Luco. She graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy, along with John, in 1958. She attended Marian College to pursue teaching. Her first teaching assignment was at a one room schoolhouse in Woodhull, WI. After raising her family in Grafton, she worked for several local banks and financial institutions. Over the years, her hobbies included crocheting (she made many prayer shawls and blankets for her family), reading, bowling, golfing, watching British TV shows, card nights with friends, getting together with the “birthday group” and the Razzle Dazzle Chicks, and an occasional trip to the casino. She also had a love of singing, which led her to the St. Joseph's Church choir and the Golden Tones, where she made some wonderful friends. "Fancee," as her sisters "Jezzie" and "Sissie" referred to her, took numerous trips throughout the United States together with their mother, "Marmie." After retirement, Pat and John enjoyed several winters in Destin, FL, where they had the opportunity to spend time with both old and new friends, and her brother Rick and his wife Deb. John was the one true love of her life, as evidenced by their unwavering devotion and love for each other for over 62 years. Pat’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and her family.

Pat is survived by her loving husband and best friend, John. Her children; son, Robert (Susan) of Port Washington, daughters, Stephanie (David) Shambeau of Waupaca and Melissa (Dean) Artus of Oshkosh; and grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, and Sarah Shambeau and Sophia, Henry and Ava Artus. She is further survived by her mother, Audrey Martin; her sisters Jeanne Kebble and Mary Jo Berenz; her brother Richard (Deb) Martin; and her sister-in-law Anne Staton (Ken Mikich).

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Martin; three brothers-in-law, James Kebble, James Berenz, and Michael Staton; and mother and father-in-law, Alfred and Dolores Stoecker.
