Patricia Wilmot, 79, passed away on November 29, 2024. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, filled with love that she freely shared with friends, family, and strangers alike.
Born on May 28, 1945 to parents George and Dorothy Mulligan, Pat grew up in Mequon, Wisconsin and was proud to say she was a member of the first class to graduate from Homestead High School. She attended college at University of Wisconsin, Madison, and loved being a member of Alpha Phi sorority.
She married the first great love of her life, Harvey Butt; and they raised their children, Jennifer and Brian, in Cedarburg. She was the most faithful cheerleader on the sidelines of both kids’ sporting events, and was proud to see both children graduate from their respective colleges. She was a valiant caregiver during Harvey’s cancer battle, and was at his side when he passed in 1992.
Pat married her second great love, Brian Wilmot, in 1996. They created a new life together in Madison, building a beautiful country house in Mt. Horeb and serving together in church ministry. Mom loved hosting people in their home, serving as a stand-in “mom” to anyone in need of support, and their frequent travels to anywhere that had a beach. She absolutely adored her granddaughters, and was pleased to have attended Payton’s graduation from Shippensburg University in 2023 and to have recently visited Lindsey at Coastal Carolina University.
Pat is survived by husband Brian Wilmot, daughter Jennifer Margerum (son-in-law Gordon), son Brian Butt, and granddaughters Payton and Lindsey Margerum, who loved their “Nana” so very much. She is also survived by sister Mary Coller (Fred), as well as beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many close friends. She was preceeded in death by first husband Harvey Butt, and brother George Mulligan.
Patricia’s funeral service will be held at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, on Saturday, December 21st. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. The service will begin at 12:00, followed by a light lunch in the church’s fellowship hall.
