Norman G. Welch

Norman G. Welch (aka Papa), age 81 of Saukville entered heaven as an angel on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Norman was born on October 4, 1935, in Monroe County, the son of the late Thomas and Sophia (nee Rehberg) Welch. After his brother Eugene Welch Sr. passed away in 1983, Norman became the patriarch of the Welch family by helping his sister-in-law, Geraldine raise her three children. On August 20, 1988, Norman and Geraldine were united in marriage, now taking over the role as father to Geraldine’s children, Eugene Jr., Mike, and Michelle. A true outdoorsman, Norman loved running the bulldozer while working for a landscape company as well as hunting, fishing, and working in the yard. Norman enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren compete in football, softball, dirt track racing and other events. Norman is survived by his children, Eugene Jr (Lori), Mike and Michelle (fiancé Patrick Hoven); grandchildren, Nichole, Jennifer, Tanner (Rebecca Schroeder), Donnie, and the late Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Alysa (fiancé Nick Stopar), Maggie, Savannah, Tyler, C.J., and Caden; great-great grandchild, Cooper. Sister, Patricia (Larry) Jessen, sister in laws Doris Welch and Monica Welch. Norman is further survived by his close family friend who was like a grandson to him, Harry Kumar, nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and his grandpuppies Casey, Alex, Kayla and Dakota. Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine in 2004. Also five sisters, Alice, Helen, Vivian, Shirley, and Mickey, five brothers Howard, Eugene Sr., Roland, Leroy and Jack, five brother in laws Ralph, Frank, Larry, Harold and Joe, and one sister in law Betty. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017, 1PM at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory (979 N. Green Bay Rd.), in Grafton. Norman will be in state on Friday, from 10AM until 12:45PM. He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery, in Milwaukee. Memorials to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
