Neil O. Nelson Of Grafton. January 1, 2011 at the age of 56 years. Funeral Services for Neil will be Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 4:00pm at the Grafton Funeral Home, 979 N. Green Bay Road, Grafton, WI. Family will receive friends and family at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00pm until the time of Service. Luncheon to follow at the American Legion Peter Wollner Post 288, W57 N481 Hilbert Avenue in Cedarburg. Nelson was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 10th, 1954, the son of the late Edwin and Bette Nelson .Neils love of cars began as a youth when he built countless model car kits. Various auto mechanic jobs honed Neils skills until he finally opened his own auto repair business. He was awarded the coveted title of Master Technician by the National Institute of Automotive Excellence. Neils marriage to Nancy Mueller drew them to Grafton, Wisconsin to buy their home, where they have lived for 28 years. Many remodeling projects done by Neil on this home testify to his high level of craftsmanship. Neils friends in the Rods and Relics Car Club will miss seeing Neil saunter around his beloved 1970AAR orange Plymouth Cuda at area car shows. Neil had a love of life that touched many. From his wife Nancy, to his beloved pets Miko and Cheerio, to his family, to his countless friends, Neils generosity was his legacy. He was never too busy to mentor someone in the automotive field or to help a niece or nephew buy their first car. The life-altering car accident Neil and Nancy had in 2000 did not diminish their ability to give to others. If anything, it enhanced the kindness both Neil and Nancy unselfishly showered on family and friends. Neil is survived by his wife Nancy and his brothers: Gareth Nelson and family, Ron & Barbara Nelson and family, Keith & Valeria Nelson and family, Wayne Nelson and family. Neils survivors on his wife Nancys side are Nancys parents Bernard & Gwendolyn Mueller, and Nancys siblings: Steve & JoAnn Mueller and family, Mary & Dennis Leist and family, Sally & Scott Reimers and family, Becky & Keith Olson and family, Judy Liebenstein and family, Terry & Neil Filter, Edward Mueller, Peter & Brenda Mueller and family.
