**PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE** Nancy Carroll Higgins (nee Champine) was born to Eternal Life on Friday, May 24, 2019. Nancy was born in Mosinee, Wisconsin on February 8, 1934, the daughter of Herbert and Celestine Champine. Nancy, who was united in marriage to Daniel Higgins on November 28, 1953, was dearly blessed with six children, 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, to whom she modeled her strong Christian faith and servant attitude. Nancy was very hardworking, and started working at Employers Mutual as a teenager and ended her career at Woolworth; but in between she most enjoyed her work at Baker’s Square because she loved interacting with all the people. Nancy loved spending time with family, friends and her dogs. She never missed any of her children’s activities - sports, music, theater, church sacraments and programs – and continued that with her grandchildren, celebrating in their successes and consoling them in their struggles. She loved the zoo, fireworks, parades, gardening, dogs, but mostly she loved serving others in Christian love. After retirement from the Woolworth Corporation, she used her free time by volunteering at her church, Family Sharing, Interfaith Caregivers, the Humane Society, Meals on Wheels, the Rivoli Theater and more. Nancy is survived by her children, Jeff (Cheryl) Higgins, James (Aimee) Higgins, Jerry (Mary) Higgins, Linda (Craig) Maxwell, Lisa (David) Merrill and Daniel (Jennifer) Higgins. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren: Kyle (Lexie), Kerri (AJ), Walker (Kristy), Audrey, Amanda (Vinny), Caitlyn (Andy) Trevan, Robyn (Joseph), Erin (Cyle), Brett, Kathryn (DJ), Chase (Naomi), Blake, Chelsea (Ryan), Gabrielle, Elle (Brett), Joshua, Coeli, Emma, Molly, Colin, Meghan, Annie, Catherine, and Claire. She is also dearly loved by 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that were very important to her. Thank you to Lawlis Family Hospice who so lovingly cared for Nancy during her final weeks, making her comfortable and allowing the family to share in a meaningful goodbye. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30 at St. Robert Catholic Church 4019 N. Farwell Avenue, Shorewood, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:45pm, with Nancy’s funeral mass at 2:00pm. Father Enrique Hernandez will be officiating and burial will be at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Mequon following the mass.
