Myron G. Philipps of Jackson, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the age of 91.
Myron was born on June 17, 1933 in the township of Grafton to Louis and Elsie Philipps. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1952. He was drafted into the army in 1954 and served in Japan until July 1956. He was united in marriage to Delores née Bublitz on July 28, 1956.
Myron worked as a truck driver part time for a few different companies and then full time for Hoffmann Excavating. After a few years he was employed at Karthauser and Sons Wholesale Florist. He delivered flowers to flower shops for many years. After retiring he kept busy for over 10 years cutting lawn at David’s Star Lutheran Church and Cemetery. He also delivered topsoil for Liesener’s Topsoil.
Myron enjoyed being busy. He was active in the Henry Gumm Post 486. He flew on the honor flight and had Wayne Larrivee as his guardian. Of note, he did not recognize him as the packer announcer until almost the end of the day which his grandchildren found very funny. He also liked to play sheepshead with the seniors on Tuesdays, a men’s group one Friday a month and with card club which was started 67 years ago and was still going one afternoon a month.
Myron was the beloved husband of Delores ( Nee Bublitz). Proud father of Pamela (Brian) Lee and Scott (Debra) Philipps. Proud Grandpa of Rachel (Kory) Weisman, Philip (Ashley) Lee, Hannah (Noah) Lee-Semmann, Michael (Zana) Philipps, Nicole Philipps. Proud Opa of Charlotte,, Ellis and Gabriel.
Additional survivors include sister-in-laws: Betty Bublitz, Ginny Bublitz, Kathy Bublitz and Gloria Jaeger; and brother-in-law Harvey Jaeger. Preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters and brother-in-laws Lucille (Jerome) Kannenberg, Delores (Robert) Veloon, brothers Arthur and Kenneth Philipps. sister-in-law Marcella Graff, brother-in-laws Earl, Elroy and John Bublitz, Gene Graff.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 3:30PM at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church in Kirchhayn. Inurnment Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:30PM-3:15PM. Memorials to David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School are appreciated.
