A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2009 6PM at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church (623 Congress Dr.), Newburg for Mildred Milly Augusta Peters (nee Kringel) who went home to be with her Lord on August 1, 2009, age 84 years. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 3:30PM until time of service. Interment St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Newburg. Mildred was born on October 17, 1924, at the homestead in the Town of Jackson to Frank and Ida (nee Heckendorf) Kringel. She was baptized through Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church on Pleasant Valley Rd. in Jackson on October 18, 1924. Mildred attended some school but later was needed to help out with the family. Mildred married Marvin Peters from the Town of Polk on September 9, 1950, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Jackson. They lived in rural Kewaskum, Cedarburg, the Town of Jackson and Town of Trenton where they raised a family. Later they sold potatoes, strawberries, melons, pickles, sweet corn or any extra produce from their garden. As a stay at home mom, Mildred enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, embroidering, crocheting and rug weaving. She still always had time for her family and later her grandchildren. Mildred also enjoyed playing games, cards and assembling jigsaw puzzles. On May 26, 1978, Marvin passed away. Mildred and the children moved to Grafton in 1979 where she still lived until she became ill in January of this year. Mildred was a member at Trinity in Jackson for over 35 years and almost 50 years at St. Johns in Newburg. Mildred is survived by her children Marlene Peters, Dale (Joyce) Peters and Delwin Peters; grandchildren Stacey Peters, Michelle (Andy) Christophersen, Katie Peters and Nathan Peters; great-granddaughter Olive Christophersen; sisters Loraine Butt and Anita (Don) Franzen; brother Franklin (Nancy)Kringel; 8 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Marvin, 3 sisters and 3 brothers, other relatives and friends. Memorials: Memorials to St. John Ev.
