Michael T. Kern

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Cedarburg Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, W63N527 Hanover Avenue at 2:00pm for Michael T. Kern of Cedarburg, age 70 years, who died on February 16, 2015 of natural causes at Columbia St. Mary’s – Ozaukee Campus. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of Services. Special thanks to the staff of Columbia St. Mary’s-Ozaukee Campus for all the care Michael received. Michael was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 13, 1944, the son of the late James and Mary Kern. He attended Marquette University High School and Marquette University where he studied Business Administration. Michael married Karen in Milwaukee, WI on June 14, 1985. Michael just loved local government and was very involved in the community. He was an Alderman for the 3rd district for 1 term and was very proud to be in the Emergency Government. Michael was an Insurance agent for International General Insurance Corp and also for Assurant Health Company. He also had his own Insurance Company, KIG Insurance. He loved talk radio too. Michael was a wonderful “Papa” to his 8 grandchildren. Michael is survived by wife; Karen, children; Thomas (Denelle) Kern, Charles Kern, Kelly (Marc) Haberli, Sarah (Daniel) Driscoll, Neil (Elizabeth) Mauntler and Joseph Mauntler, grandchildren; Kody & Hailey Kern, Nicholas, Nathan, Owen & Maren Haberli and Macy & Sydney Mauntler, siblings; Mary Anne Kern and James (Jeannine) Kern, mother-in-law; Helen Rowell, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
