Michael G. Howard

Michael G. Howard, of Grafton, was born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the Cedar Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center, at the age of 73 years. Mike was born on September 9, 1945, in Milwaukee, the son of the late George Howard and the late Sarah (nee Lang) Howard. Mike graduated from Francis Jordan Catholic High School, in Milwaukee and later served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Shortly upon returning home from active duty, Mike was united in marriage to Darlene Ott at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, in Milwaukee. Together their marriage was blessed with one son, Scott Howard. Mike was employed by A.O. Smith, which is now Tower Automotive, as a welder. He was a dedicated employee for over 30 years until he retired, when he and his loving wife, took up traveling abroad. He was a longtime member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Grafton. He enjoyed cross-word puzzles as well as spending time with his family. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Darlene Howard, son, Scott Howard, and grandsons, Corey and Noah Howard. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Phyllis Turner and Richard Fuller. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 22, 2018, 4:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Grafton. He will be in state on Monday, at the church, from 3 PM until the time of Mass. Mike will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Grafton. Father Mike Barrett will conduct the service. Memorials can be made in Mike’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to the Wisconsin Humane Society are appreciated.
