Michael F. Kunz

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, for Michael F. Kunz, 65, of Cedarburg, who died on Friday, June 18, 2010, at his home. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00AM until the time of Service. Interment Zur Ruhe Cemetery, Cedarburg. Memorials are appreciated for the Myron Hancock Scholarship Fund Cedarburg, WI. Mike was born in Milwaukee on February 15, 1945, to the late Theodore and Evelyn (Miller) Kunz. He married Sherry Hancock on March 28, 1970, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa. Mike was a 1964 graduate of Wauwatosa-West High school. He served six years in the Army Reserves, and later co-founded Kunz Company, Inc. (KCI) with Sherry, specializing in industrial packaging sales. He is survived by his children: Scott (Amanda) Kunz of Fredonia, David (Marisa) Kunz of Gurnee, IL, and Jeff (Michelle) Kunz of Greenfield; grandchildren: Brandon, Anthony, Emma and Olivia; sister Kathleen (Walter) Riley and brother, the late Daniel (Linda) Kunz. Further survived by other relatives and countless friends. Mike was inseparable from Sherry it is hard to talk about one without mentioning the other. They were rarely seen without each other and they befriended practically everyone they met. They were extremely easy people to talk with and get to know. After Sherry passed away, Mike lived with a broken heart that was greater than anyone could bear. Mike was universally known as a fun-loving person who was generous and selfless to an extreme. He would give you his last dollar and wouldnt expect anything in return. If he called you a Kocklemeier, you knew he liked you! He had a thousand stories and jokes, and didnt mid retelling ones you already heard a few dozen times. His infectious laugh entertained a lot of crowds. Pop, we miss you dearly.
