Melvin H. Schroeder

Melvin “Mel” Schroeder of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Saturday January 19, 2019 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg at the age of 96 years. Mel was born in the Town of Morrison in Brown County, WI on June 21, 1922 to the late Elmer & Clara (nee Plautz) Schroeder and married Juanita (nee Shaffer) on July 23, 1943 at Augsburg Lutheran Church in Toledo, OH. Mel was a WWII Navy Veteran receiving four Bronze Stars, he was a graduate of UW Madison where he earned his MBA, he owned and operated M.H. Schroeder Accounting for over 50 years, he was a long time active member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg serving as President and Treasurer of the congregation, he loved to travel, and was an avid Badger and Packer fan. God blessed Juanita and Mel with 75 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Juanita of Cedarburg, children; Jeanne (Wayne) Pipkorn of Cedarburg, Bob (Amy) Schroeder of Estero, FL, Kathy (Alan) Hanley of Alameda, CA & Don (Wendy) Schroeder of Terre Haute, IN. He is further survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday January 22, 3:30 PM at First Immanuel Lutheran Church W67 N622 Evergreen Blvd. Cedarburg. The family will receive friends following the service at Galioto’s Twelve 21 1221 Wauwatosa Rd Cedarburg. In lieu of flowers memorials to First Immanuel Guardian Angel Fund appreciated.
