Mary Susan Murray peacefully passed away and was born into eternal life on December 8th, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born on August 3rd, 1942, in Durand, Wisconsin. Mary graduated from Durand High School in 1960 before entering the Nursing Program at St. Mary’s College of Nursing. While there, Mary changed degree programs and moved to the Radiology Technology program at Sacred Heart Hospital. While at Sacred Heart Hospital, Mary met the love of her life, Jerry John Murray, and they married in 1964. After they married, they moved to Rochester, Minnesota and began their family. Mary, her Husband Jerry, and two young boys moved to Grafton WI and settled down to expand and raise their family of five children. Shortly after moving to Grafton, Mary worked as a Radiology Tech in a small clinic in Grafton Wisconsin. After the birth of her third child, Mary decided to focus her attention on her growing family and become a stay-at-home Mom. Always looking for a new endeavor, Mary served as the primary organist at St. Joseph’s Parish and also as a member of their choir. Her deep love of liturgical music was evident in her commitment and contributions to the Church. In the mid 1980’s, Mary decided on a new venture and became an Avon Lady. She continued selling until 2009. Mary enjoyed her family of 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Her family was her joy in life and proudest accomplishment. She enjoyed spending time with all of them, especially during moments of travel, celebration, and holidays. She enjoyed cooking, baking, antique hunting, traveling, and camping. She loved watching professional and collegiate sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and all things Wisconsin Badgers. Mary loved her flower gardens and her home filled with antiques. She never missed a chance to visit a rummage sale or thrift store, and loved sharing her newest “treasures”. Mary loved to unwind with a good book, go see a movie, and enjoy something chocolatey.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Wilma (Brenner) Lieffring and Husband Jerry John Murray. Survived by her Children: Thomas (Ilana), Michael (Jan), James (Tracy), Patricia (Danny) Fatla, and Daniel (Meghan). Grandchildren: Caitlynn (Fletcher) Arlen, Sean, Jordan, Kelsey, Barrett, and Lincoln.
