Marie Mayer

Marie Mayer of Grafton formerly of Shorewood, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 5, 2020 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls at the age of 88 years. Marie was born in Sheboygan, WI on July 12, 1931 to the late Phillip G. and Natalia (nee Kober) Hermann and married George B. Mayer on August 30, 1952 in Sheboygan, WI. Marie was born and raised in Sheboygan, WI. She was an active volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee. She loved golfing, bowling and playing cards with her friends, but most of all her love was her family, and her grandchildren, and being active in her children’s and her grandchildren’s love for sports, always being available to take them and watch them partake in their sporting activities. Marie was preceded in death by her husband George B., grandchildren; Ryan Mayer and Stephen Mayer. Survived by; children; Philip Mayer of Deerwood, MN, Gary (Lynn) Mayer of Glendale, Cindy (Daniel) Grunst of Milwaukee & Kathryn (William) Hirschinger of Grafton, grandchildren; Brian Hirschinger, Lauren (Aaron) Lorge, Kevin Hirschinger, Colin (Anna) Mayer, Justin Mayer, Theresa (John) Backowski, Jason (Valerie) Levin, Matthew Mayer, Robert (Lucy) Mayer, Benjamin (Maggie) Grunst, Andrew (Bridget) Grunst, Michael (Rachel) Grunst & James (Audrey) Grunst. Marie is further survived by 18 great grandchildren, a sister Natalie Stoelb and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter in law Diane Mayer, her sisiters; Vera VanTatenhove, Frieda Mohr, Emilie Mohr, Pauline Wede, Hilda Froh and her brother Victor Herman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1619 Washington Street, Grafton.
