Marie E. Wegner, 94, of Grafton, went home to her Lord and Savior on April 9, 2020 at The Waterford, in Plymouth, WI. Marie was born in Oshkosh, WI on October 7, 1925 the daughter of Alfred Rothlesberger and Elizabeth Acheson Rothlesberger Babbitz. She was united in marriage to Walter J. Wegner on April 25, 1945. Walter preceded her in death in 2005. Always desiring a large family, she lovingly welcomed eight children. Marie was happiest when surrounded by family, creating special memories for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. An active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grafton, for over 50 years, Marie was devoted to Christian education. She taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, eventually becoming superintendent of Sunday school and Director of VBS. Teach adult Bible classes, led to years as Director of Adult Education. Marie is survived by her children: Marie Marshall, Walter (Robbie) Wegner, John (Chris) Wegner, Peter (Laurie) Wegner, Paul Wegner, Christine Wegner and Liz Wegner; further survived by daughter-in-law Connie Wegner; 18 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, soon to be 19, other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Joseph, sister Ruth Adams, half brother Ernest Bobbitz, step-brother William Kutscher, son-in-law Thomas Marshall. Special thanks to the visiting pastors at St. Paul Lutheran Church, most recently Pastor Tim Maschke. The family would also like to thank the dedicated staff at The Waterford in Plymouth and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their kindness and loving care. Private Interment was held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton, WI. Rev. Luke Anderson officiating. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date
