Marian Hoeppner, 80, of Grafton, WI, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away June 26, 2017 after a long illness. She was born on August 25, 1936 to the late Anton and Katherine Svikel. Marian was a graduate of Messmer High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Hoeppner at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Milwaukee on June 6 1959; he preceded her in death on July 6, 1979. Although widowed, Marian continued to live life to the fullest. Marian worked 27 years for the Federal government in Washington DC, Cleveland and Milwaukee. She enjoyed spending time at the family’s lake home near Eagle River and traveling both domestically Alaska and Hawaii and abroad Europe, Greece and Canada. Marian was deeply committed to her family, always willing to help no matter what the cause. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton, where she was a Eucharistic minister. She was extremely close to her children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all. Marian is survived by her four children; Donna, Terry (Jennifer), Richard (Dawn) and James (Lisa); nine grandchildren Stephanie, James, Nicholas, Nicole, Anna, Amanda, Kristen, Kelly and Zachary. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother Robert Svikel, sister in law Delores Hoeppner, and daughter-in-law Susan (Nee Murphy). Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1619 Washington Street in Grafton on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 2:00pm to 3:45pm. A Funeral Mass for Marian will follow at 4:00pm. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI. Memorials to American Cancer Society appreciated.
