Mari K. Maciejewski (nee Walczak) February 18, 1933-April 20, 2018- A celebration of Mari’s life will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Grafton, on Friday, April 27, 2018. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:45 am. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice and are appreciated. Mari was born in Milwaukee on February 18, 1933 to Cassie and Sygmund Walczak, the fourth of eight children to bless the Walczak family. Mari attended St. Casimir Grade School and Mercy High School in Milwaukee. She graduated from Mount Mary College with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree and majored in Speech. Happily married for 52 years to Raymond Maciejewski they had six children, two sons and four daughters. Mari worked as a teacher at Holy Trinity School in Milwaukee and later changed careers working in the membership and standards divisions of the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA). Mari and Ray were members of St. Joseph’s Parish for many years. Mari was an active participant of the parish and was a Eucharistic minister and lector. She served on the parish council and later on the Archbishop’s Council. Mari was an avid golfer, bridge player, and bowler. She gathered with friends from college once a month to share a meal, cards, and conversation. Mari and Ray loved to travel for getaway weekends to Door County and traveled to Costa Rica and Mexico. Family was very important to Mari and Ray. Family gatherings, holidays, and birthdays were always celebrated with much laughter, good food, and loud conversations. They took great joy in their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mari was preceded in death by her husband Ray and son Gerard. She is survived by her children Felice, Leah (Robert) Malingowski, Andrew, Rachel (Earl) Schlueter, and Kathleen (Dana) Zenil. Further survived by her daughter-in-law Mary Caswell. Loving grandma of Ariela (Brian Johnson) Coles-Maciejewski, Leah (Brian) Begotka, Stephanie (Chad Balogh) Maciejewski, Christopher Maciejewski, Sam Caswell, Zachary (Marguerite) Malingowski, Gregory (Kimberly) Malingowski, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Malingowski, Ryan and Robyn Schlueter, Jack and Trevor Zenil. Loving great-grandma of Kensington Johnson, Emmy and Alexander Begotka, Nevaeh, Addison and Grayson Balogh, Wesson and Liam Malingowski and Magnolia Mae Malingowski. Sister of Josephine (Joseph) Ruditys, Catherine Bacik, and Lucinne (Donald) Herrmann. Sisters-in-law Rita and Beverly Walczak. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mari was preceded in death by parents Sygmund (Sy) and Casmyra (Cassie) Walczak, and brothers Gerard, Lawrence, Sygmund (Ziggy) and Michael Walczak. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Camillus for their kind and compassionate care for Mari.
