Margaret Coerper (nee Maurer) of Cedarburg peacefully entered eternal life at the age of 85 on Thursday June 13th, 2013 with family and friends at her side. According to her wishes, her life will be remembered and celebrated privately. Margaret was born on January 18th, 1928 to the late Claude Norman and Jessie (Boshard) Maurer. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 1945 and remained active as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma throughout her life. She married Garfield James Coerper in Florida. Gar preceded her in death in 1972. Margaret was active with the Cedarburg Women’s Club, the Women’s Club of Greater New York, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and collecting antiques. Margaret cherished living independently, surrounded by nature, at her woodland home in Cedarburg. She was preceded in death by her daughter Carolyn Margaret (Darryl, joyfully remarried to Barbara Rizzo) Graham of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and by her brother John Maurer. Margaret is survived by her daughter L. Elizabeth (Peter, deceased) Fay of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Jessica Margaret Graham and Matthew Edward Graham of Pittsburgh, and Arielle Sundquist Fay and Forrest Carlyle Fay of Chicago. The family wishes to thank Hensley and Harriet Foster for their unfailing friendship and kindness over the years. They are grateful for the vigilant care and comfort she received from Anne, Lin, Courtney and Katie. The family is appreciative of the constant and compassionate support provided over the years by Carlyle and Marjorie Fay, Trudy Hannam, John Kaufman and the Ruhlman family. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the American Cancer Society or to Cedarburg’s Advent Lutheran Church – Mabo, Haiti Orphanage.
