Margaret 'Peg' Roethle

Margaret (Peg) Roethle, nee Wilinski, 61, passed away February 23, 2012 at home in Grafton where she was surrounded by family and friends after her long and hard-fought struggle with lymphoma. She was born on September 20, 1950 in Chicago to the late Walter and Eileen (nee Donovan) Wilinski. At the age 2, the family relocated to the south side of Milwaukee. Peg attended and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1968. Following high school, she continued her education at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Peg graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in deaf education. After spending a few years at home raising her two sons, Peg found a new career in human resources, one she thought of as her calling. She worked for many years and touched many lives at both Jordan Controls in Milwaukee and Great Lakes Packaging in Germantown. In addition, Peg truly valued and treasured her service to our local and greater community. She was on the board of directors at Advocates of Ozaukee. She was also an active member of Ozaukee Congregational Church where she enjoyed working with youth on service projects. Peg and all the family would like to thank all the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff at Froedtert Hospital that helped care for her over the past couple years. Their care and compassion was felt by us all. Peg was preceded in death by her father Walter Wilinski and mother Eileen Wilinski. Peg is survived by her elder son Matthew from Los Angeles and younger son Paul (Gretchen) from San Francisco; brothers Walt (Linda) Wilinski of New Berlin, Michael Wilinski of St. Francis, and Daniel (Karen) Wilinski of Atlanta; nephews Jesse (Moraine) Wilinski and Daniel (Bethany) Wilinski; niece Lisa (Mike) Eddy; best friend Patty Eubanks; and so many more loving family members and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday February, 25, 5 PM at Ozaukee Congregational Church 1142 Lakefield Rd. Grafton. Family will receive friends at the church from 2 – 4:45 PM. In lieu of flowers or gifts, a memorial contribution may be made to the Margaret Roethle Fund for Clinical and Translational Research at Froedtert Hospital.
